Martinez blasts Man United hierarchy after Champions League defeat

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez publicly criticized the club's hierarchy after a 2-0 Champions League loss to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, questioning their offseason recruitment and leadership. Martinez told Amazon Prime he expected more from the technical director and said the squad lacked depth to compete, noting the club spent around $213 million on players like Carlos Baleba, Youri Tielemans, and Andrey Santos. The defeat extended United's winless run to five games, leaving them 13th in the Premier League. Pablo Barrios scored in the first minute and Ademola Lookman added a second for Atletico. Martinez also hinted at broader issues beyond coaching, saying "you start changing, changing, changing manager. But what about other areas?" as pressure mounts on manager Michael Carrick.
