Lisandro Martinez criticizes Manchester United's transfer strategy after Atletico Madrid loss

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez publicly criticized the club's hierarchy after a 0-2 Champions League loss to Atletico Madrid, calling for more squad investment and questioning the technical director's role. Martinez said he expects more from technical director Jason Wilcox and admitted the club needs new signings to compete, noting rivals have strengthened. The defeat, with goals from Pablo Barrios and Ademola Lookman, extended United's winless run to five matches and increased pressure on manager Michael Carrick. United spent about 213 million USD on players this summer but have struggled early this season. Martinez also criticized the team's performance and referenced frequent managerial changes, saying other areas of the club also need examination.
