Kingdom Hearts Anime Series Ordered by Disney+ and Disney Channel
Disney has ordered an anime series based on the "Kingdom Hearts" video game franchise for Disney+ and Disney Channel, developed with creator Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix. The show will feature a brand-new story expanding the universe. The adaptation will reimagine the iconic adventure while celebrating beloved characters, according to Disney's description. The franchise has sold over 39 million units since its first game launched in March 2002. The announcement was made at Disney's D23 fan event on Friday. Actor Benjamin Bratt revealed he will voice his "Coco" character in the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts IV" game, set for late 2027. The series joins other new Disney+ originals like "Messi and the Giants" and "Warrior Cats."
