Square Enix announced at D23 that Kingdom Hearts 4 will launch in late 2027, ending years of speculation about the sequel's release window. The Japanese publisher confirmed the launch timeframe during a Disney Entertainment panel in Anaheim, California, and released a new trailer with gameplay footage. The game was originally revealed in April 2022 but had remained quiet since then. The trailer also unveiled the first Disney world based on Pixar's Coco, featuring the Land of the Dead and a guitar-themed Keyblade. Additional crossover worlds have yet to be announced.
