Kanter Freedom ejected after clash with Cloud at WNBA game

Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom was ejected from Sunday's WNBA game between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky after a verbal altercation with Sky guard Natasha Cloud. The incident occurred while he was sitting courtside during a timeout late in the third quarter. Cloud approached Kanter Freedom shouting as he stood with arms outstretched, before security intervened and escorted him out. He mocked Cloud with a talking gesture and displayed his shirt reading "WOMAN noun. adult human female" while exiting, then spoke with police before leaving the arena. Kanter Freedom had declared himself eligible for the WNBA draft, saying he identifies as a woman, following Fever guard Sophie Cunningham's comments on transgender athletes. The league's collective bargaining agreement states only women are eligible, but no policy defines the term or addresses transgender or intersex athletes.
