UK air traffic outage cancels 600 flights, hits Schiphol

A technical failure in the UK's air traffic control system has led to over 600 flight cancellations across British and Irish airports, also disrupting operations at Amsterdam's Schiphol, where 58 UK-bound flights were cancelled. The outage affected a system processing flight plans and operational data, primarily impacting departures and causing knock-on delays for arrivals. KLM has been unable to fly to and from England. The UK's National Air Traffic Service says a solution was found and the system is working again, but recovery will take time. EasyJet cancelled 200 flights and British Airways 100. According to the BBC, London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, and Birmingham airports were the hardest hit.
