Hundreds of flights were cancelled across Britain on Tuesday due to an air traffic control system failure, with the national service Nats saying the fault has been located and is being fixed. Nats stated on X that the system is gradually returning to normal after the technical issue disrupted operations at major airports including London's Heathrow and Gatwick, causing severe delays. Over 400 flights were cancelled, affecting carriers like British Airways and Easyjet, with problems also reported in Edinburgh, Manchester, and Dublin. Flightradar24 data showed very few planes departing from British airports during the disruption. Wizz Air criticised Nats for frequent system faults, urging immediate improvements to the infrastructure.
