Nice shopkeeper kicked in back during looting; video goes viral

A video showing a Micromania store employee in Nice being kicked in the back by a rioter during Saturday's looting has gone viral on social media. The employee was attempting to prevent his shop from being pillaged when he was attacked. The victim, identified as Pierre, told Ici Provence he cannot yet process the event and regrets his intervention. He told BFMTV he still has back pain but has not seen a doctor, while receiving numerous messages of support since the attack. The store was ultimately completely looted. The assault occurred amid the October 17 protests, with the crowd audibly laughing during the attack.
