Geely unveils AI-powered EV charger that tops up battery in 4.5 minutes

Chinese automaker Geely unveiled an AI-based ultra-fast EV charging technology that charges a battery from 10% to 70% in four and a half minutes, intensifying industry competition in fast-charging capabilities. The system, tested on the Zeekr 001 sedan and Lynk & Co 10 hybrid, reached 97% charge in under nine minutes. It uses AI algorithms to predict battery temperature and adjust power, with peak charging output of 2,250 kilowatts. The development challenges BYD, which previously offered 10-to-70% charging in five minutes. Geely, based in Hangzhou, has competed closely with BYD in sales, surpassing it in early months of this year before falling behind.
