Eisenkot warns Israel faces existential threat from open war fronts
Israeli opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot warned that Israel faces a serious emergency and existential threat due to open war fronts, announcing efforts to form a national emergency government based on four principles to replace the current administration. Eisenkot stated the current government poses an existential threat to Israeli democracy, especially with war fronts still open and subject to political whims. He has been coordinating with partners to establish a government quickly, backed by four Zionist parties, with any Knesset member able to join if they accept the principles. The four principles include recognizing Israel as a Jewish democratic state, accepting the Declaration of Independence, mandating military or national service for all, and designating Hamas as a terrorist organization committed to dismantling its military and governmental power. Eisenkot claimed 74 Knesset members oppose Netanyahu's continued tenure, urging swift action to prevent further elections.
