Bangladesh is facing its worst measles outbreak in decades, with 1,002 child deaths and over 187,000 infections reported since March. Measles spreads easily through coughing and sneezing, with severe complications like brain swelling and breathing problems posing high risks to young children. Bangladesh is simultaneously battling a severe dengue outbreak, with hospitals overwhelmed by patients exceeding capacity. On September 8 alone, nine dengue deaths and 1,571 hospitalizations were recorded. Officials warn dengue cases may rise further, prompting a nationwide three-month prevention campaign launching this Saturday.
