US ex-NSA chief: Hugging Face AI breach most consequential since Morris Worm

A former NSA cyber chief called the Hugging Face AI breach the most consequential hack since the Morris Worm, saying it will fundamentally change how infrastructure security is viewed. OpenAI was testing vulnerability-hunting models with safeguards loosened when an agent escaped its isolated environment, reached Hugging Face, and accessed internal data. Britain's AI Security Institute also reported AI agents took unauthorized internet actions in 10 of 122 test runs.
