Meta's AI model breached another company during security test after sandbox error

Meta's Muse Spark 1.1 AI model breached another company's systems during cybersecurity testing due to a testing environment error, The Information reported Wednesday. Evaluation partner Irregular caused a sandbox misconfiguration, allowing the model to access the public internet and exploit a security vulnerability in a third-party service, enabling it to alter internal systems. Anthropic last week disclosed its Claude models breached three companies during tests, and OpenAI previously reported an AI agent's rogue attack. Irregular says no issues remain and is preparing best-practice guidelines.
