Ukrainian forces destroy Russian drone launch facility in Oryol region

Ukrainian forces destroyed the "Tsymbulova" drone port in Russia's Oryol region, a facility used for mass launches of attack drones against Ukraine. Military expert Vladyslav Seleznyov called this a key preventive measure against enemy drone attacks. Seleznyov stated the facility housed various drone types, including Geran-1, Geran-2, and newer modifications. He emphasized that destroying drones at storage and launch sites is more effective than intercepting them over Ukrainian territory, as it eliminates risks from falling debris. The expert noted Russia seeks to minimize attack costs using cheaper drones instead of missiles. He said Ukrainian intelligence and partisans help locate these facilities, though domestic ballistic missiles would significantly improve strike capabilities. The drone port was also hit on August 30, 2026.
