Putin's party wins record supermajority in Russian election

United Russia party won a record 355 of 450 Duma seats in a tightly controlled election, authorities announced Monday, barring Kremlin critics and opposition parties. The result surpassed its previous record of 343 seats, handing Putin's party an expanded supermajority. Forty-nine Ukraine war veterans are set to enter parliament, while turnout was over 59%. The Communist party came second with 40 seats, and Yabloko, the only anti-war party, was barred from federal voting.
