OpenAI launches ChatGPT GIF generation with Images 2.6

mashable.com —

OpenAI has launched Images 2.6, a new AI model that lets ChatGPT users generate GIFs from text prompts or uploaded images, rolling out globally on Wednesday. The feature allows users to animate uploaded images or rough drawings, adjust animation speed, and edit individual frames. OpenAI notes it is not a video generator but can create animated storyboards or explore character movement before production. This follows OpenAI's discontinuation of its Sora video app earlier this year, which reportedly lost about $1 million daily. Images 2.6 also generates images 50 percent faster than its predecessor.
