Oil rises as Trump denies Iran sanctions easing

reuters.com [$] —

Oil prices rose Wednesday after President Donald Trump denied reports he would ease sanctions on Iran, while Qatar pushed for peace talks, following a previous session's decline tied to recovering Middle East crude supply. Brent's November contract gained 71 cents to $103.30 a barrel, with the December contract up 35 cents to $96.51, while US West Texas Intermediate rose 43 cents to $89.81. Brent is set for a monthly gain of about 14%, its largest since July. Trump rejected an Axios report claiming he would offer sanctions relief and release frozen Iranian funds for nuclear steps. Saudi Arabia resumed tanker loadings at Yanbu, with Middle East exports rebounding to 16.328 million barrels daily, the highest since the US-Israeli war with Iran began in late February.
