Nvidia takes minority stake in French health platform Doctolib

lemonde.fr (French) [$] —

Nvidia, the American chip giant, will become a minority shareholder in the French medical appointment platform Doctolib, CEO Jensen Huang announced Tuesday in Paris, aiming to "launch the AI revolution in Europe." Huang said Nvidia invested at least $8 billion in Europe last year, including in French AI firms Genesis IA and Pigment. Doctolib CEO Stanislas Niox-Château confirmed Nvidia will hold no board seat, and the capital will accelerate hiring and development of proprietary AI models independent of OpenAI or Anthropic. The investment will speed up development of a personal health assistant for patients and tools for caregivers, a priority for 2027-2028. Doctolib will use Nvidia's chips and software for "sovereign AI" trained on its own data, following an August research program using data from its 50 million users. Doctolib was last valued at €3.6 billion.
