Meta raises equity offering target to nearly $98 billion
Meta has increased its equity offering target to nearly US$98 billion, making it one of the largest stock sales in history, as it seeks funds for AI infrastructure and personal superintelligence investments. The company sold US$25 billion in common stock and US$12.5 billion in preferred shares, exceeding initial plans, and will raise up to US$60 billion more via an at-the-market program of Class C nonvoting shares. Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom agreed to buy up to US$5 billion of common shares. Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg has aggressively expanded AI operations, launching products like the Muse agent and Muse Wonder model. The Class C shares will be distributed as a stock dividend, effectively a two-for-one split, with trading expected to begin in January.
