India will rise to global challenges, says Jaishankar at Kautilya conclave
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated that the world is entering an "age of flux" marked by conflicts and tariff volatility, expressing confidence that India will successfully navigate these turbulent times. He made the remarks at the 5th Kautilya Economic Conclave in New Delhi. Jaishankar cited India's track record of overcoming challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the pressures of a "double conflict," as evidence of its resilience. He emphasized that responding to the difficulties emerging from these "choppy waters" is a primary task for the nation. The minister also stressed that dialogue and diplomacy are essential for resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict, specifically highlighting attacks on civilian shipping that killed Indian sailors. He noted that India protested to both Russia and Ukraine and expanded conversations to include maritime security, grain shipments, and energy concerns.
