Hyrox co-founder Christian Fürste apologized after world champion Joanna Wietrzyk competed with visible bowel incontinence at a Beijing event, admitting the organization failed to react immediately and has since implemented new rules. The incident occurred during the international competition, with video showing Wietrzyk completing all exercises, including rowing, despite feces running down her legs. She later posted a deleted Instagram selfie on an IV drip, writing "a win is a win." An earlier organizer statement said equipment was removed, lanes closed, and carpet replaced, but did not apologize.
