Europe Excluded from US-Russia-Ukraine Talks in Abu Dhabi
European representatives will not participate in trilateral US-Russia-Ukraine talks scheduled for next month in Abu Dhabi, according to Yuri Ushakov, an aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Ushakov said Europeans may travel to the UAE capital but will only be able to speak with Ukrainian and US representatives, not join the negotiating table, citing an agreement among the three parties. He did not confirm Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's statement that the "technical" talks could occur on November 10, saying the exact date will be announced "soon." Moscow has not ruled out future dialogue with Europeans, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov saying Putin is open to calls from leaders like France's Emmanuel Macron or Germany's Friedrich Merz. Peskov acknowledged European involvement in the talks will eventually be "truly necessary," but not currently.
