75 Cats Found in Tiny Paris Apartment; Owner Likely Has Hoarding Disorder

More than 75 cats were found in a 50-square-meter apartment in Paris during a forced eviction, with the resident suspected of suffering from Noah's syndrome. Police and a bailiff requested help from animal welfare organization YouCare after discovering the animals in the 15th arrondissement. The cats lived in unbearable conditions, including under a sofa and freezer, where dead kittens were also found. Some cats were taken to a veterinary clinic, while about 30 remained in the apartment and are cared for daily by volunteers. YouCare president Thomas Moreau said the resident likely has Noah's syndrome, a compulsive hoarding disorder.
