US Envoy Kushner Discusses American Investor for Nord Stream Revival

The negotiations involved Kirill Dmitriev, a close adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Kushner, who believes business deals are key to restoring peace. The plan would allow American investors to profit from energy supplies to Europe after the war ends. The pipelines remain under US and EU sanctions, making any resumption illegal without approval. Germany opposes reactivation, and a US official said a medium-term agreement is unlikely. The pipelines were damaged by explosions in September 2022.
