Saudi Arabia rushes to restore East-West pipeline after attack on Pump Station 11

The move aims to mitigate significant revenue losses and stabilize global oil markets. Workers have laid two above-ground pipelines around the damaged station and built an earthen wall for protection, though full repairs could take months. Saudi Arabia is reportedly in early stages of restarting the pipeline, potentially using auxiliary pumps to push oil over the Hejaz mountains, while also increasing exports through the Strait of Hormuz. The disruption threatened up to seven percent of daily global oil consumption, briefly pushing prices toward 110 dollars before falling to just over 100 dollars. Saudi Aramco has informed European refineries of no October oil allocations, affecting long-term contracts, though Asian refineries may soon receive supplies from Yanbu.
