Milan riot arrests: Swiss teen jailed, another says he sought thrills
A Milan judge has ordered jail or house arrest for several young adults arrested after violent clashes in the city center on October 18. One detainee told the court he "wanted to experience emotions," while another traveled from Switzerland specifically to join the riots. Judge Maria Idria Gurgo di Castelmenardo confirmed arrests for three adults accused of devastation, looting, and aggravated resistance. Two will remain in custody, while one was placed under house arrest with electronic monitoring. The judge noted the suspects were "attracted by the call of social media" encouraging violent protest. An 18-year-old Swiss-born suspect remains in jail, having shown no remorse and traveled "appositely" to Milan for the disorder. A 21-year-old Milanese suspect, under psychiatric care, was given house arrest after stating he wanted to feel excitement. A third suspect also received a jail order.
