Hot air balloon crash in Valladolid leaves one injured

One person was injured Saturday after falling from a hot air balloon during a competition in Valladolid, Spain, which then crashed into a field and later fell into the Pisuerga River. The alert was received at 9:04 a.m. The balloon made a sudden descent, hitting farmland in Simancas and throwing both occupants. One suffered severe hip pain and received medical attention from Sacyl emergency services. Local police, Civil Guard, and firefighters responded, coordinated by the emergency center. The balloon, empty of passengers, subsequently collapsed into the river near the Roman Bridge.
