Zelenskyy: North Korea to send 10,000 more troops to Russia

aawsat.com (Arabic) —

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday that over 8,000 North Korean soldiers are on Russian territory, with preparations underway to deploy an additional 10,000 troops. Zelenskyy cited "new data" on North Korean troop deployment, stating in an X post that forces are being selected for training and later deployment in Russia. He previously suggested up to 50,000 North Korean soldiers could fight alongside Russia. Seoul announced a $100 million aid package for Kyiv in July but excluded lethal weapons. Estimates from Kyiv and Seoul indicate North Korea has sent 14,000-15,000 troops since 2024, mostly deployed in Kursk, while also supplying artillery shells and ballistic missiles.
