Woman gives birth to baby boy at Lisbon airport after arriving from Cape Verde

A woman gave birth to a boy upon arrival at Lisbon's airport on Saturday afternoon, shortly after landing from Cape Verde. The 34-year-old mother and her newborn were taken to a maternity hospital. The birth occurred between 3 and 4 p.m. at Humberto Delgado Airport as the woman, who was 39 weeks pregnant, arrived from Santiago Island. She had already passed border control when contractions began, and the airport's emergency team assisted the delivery. The woman was traveling with her six-year-old daughter, who was handed over to the father waiting in the arrivals area. The mother, a Cape Verdean national who had previously lived in Portugal, was reported in stable condition.
