Ukraine strikes Russian drone depot in Oryol Oblast, destroying 3 warehouses

On September 21, Ukrainian defense forces struck a Russian drone storage and launch facility near Tsymbulovo, Oryol Oblast, destroying at least three warehouses and damaging five launchers. The Ukrainian General Staff reported the attack, citing fires at the storage sites. The strike targeted infrastructure used for preparing and launching attack drones, with Ukrainian forces prioritizing such facilities to reduce Russia's ability to strike civilian targets. This was not the first attack on the Tsymbulovo drone port, which was previously hit in late August 2026. The Tsymbulovo complex, built since August 2024, has been significantly expanded by 2026, with satellite imagery showing numerous launch positions and storage facilities for drones like the Geran-4 and Geran-5.
