Super Micro Computer raises revenue forecast on AI demand, stock jumps 12%
Super Micro Computer shares rose 12% in after-hours trading Tuesday after the server maker sharply raised its first-quarter revenue forecast, citing stronger demand for AI platforms. The company now expects preliminary revenue of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion for the quarter ending September 30, up from a prior forecast of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion. The midpoint exceeds analyst consensus of $14.99 billion. Supermicro also raised its gross margin outlook to 12.0%-12.5% from 10.4%-10.8%, attributing the improvement to a more favorable customer and product mix. The update provides relief after the company's July warning that fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 revenue would hit the low end of guidance. Supermicro previously reported record orders exceeding $60 billion, indicating strong underlying demand. Results will be discussed in a conference call scheduled for November 3 at 5 p.m. ET.
