Reggie Watts exits festivals after abuse allegations
Comedian Reggie Watts has been removed from multiple festival lineups following abuse allegations. His scheduled performances at Greenbelt, Shambala, and Electric Picnic from August 27-30 have been canceled. The allegations stem from a Rolling Stone report detailing allegedly toxic and controlling behavior toward ex-girlfriend Katherine McCollough, who died by suicide this spring. Watts allegedly pressured her into using dangerous substances like ketamine during their relationship. Watts' lawyer, Andrew Brettler, has denied all claims, calling it "dangerously false" to link McCollough's suicide to her relationship with Watts. The Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast has also dropped his theme song, which had been used since 2011.
