Reggie Watts Dropped From Festivals After Investigation Into Ex-Girlfriend's Death
Comedian Reggie Watts has been removed from multiple festival lineups following a Rolling Stone investigation into allegations involving his late ex-girlfriend Katherine Early McCollough, drug use, and past relationship behavior. Watts was dropped from UK festivals Shambala and Greenbelt, with both confirming his removal, and is no longer listed for Ireland's Electric Picnic. A Bristol performance run was also canceled. His longtime Comedy Bang! Bang! theme song was absent from Monday's episode, though the show hasn't explained the change. The investigation, based on interviews with McCollough's sister, nine friends, and five former partners, alleges Watts encouraged her drug use and exhibited manipulative behavior. McCollough died by suicide in Peru in March. Watts' attorney denied responsibility, calling the allegations "dangerously false."
