North Korea readies 10,000 more troops for Russia, Zelensky says
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on September 28 that North Korea is preparing approximately 10,000 additional troops for deployment to Russia, where over 8,000 North Korean soldiers are already present. Zelensky announced this during his evening address, citing a report from Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate. He said Russia has effectively begun additional mobilization and plans to increase troop numbers through various methods, including more active recruitment of foreign nationals. The intelligence also revealed that Moscow is paying Pyongyang with technology for military assistance. With Russian technical support, North Korea has launched production of Shahed-type strike drones. Kyiv is informing governments of countries whose citizens Russia is attempting to recruit.
