Met Office issues thunderstorm warning for East of England

The Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorm warning for parts of the East of England on Saturday, effective from 12:00 to 21:00 BST. The warning covers Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Buckinghamshire, with heavy showers and thunderstorms expected during the afternoon and early evening. Forecasters warn of possible building damage, flooding, and short-term power loss. Up to 30mm of rain is forecast, with hail and lightning as additional hazards. The warning follows the Met Office's statement that an area of storms will move across the region.
