Kyle Kennedy, granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy, dies at 42
Kyle Kennedy, granddaughter of Robert F. "Bobby" Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy, died at 42 on Sept. 21 in her Westwood, Massachusetts, home, six years after a severe spinal cord injury caused long-term paralysis. In her final years, Kyle advocated for people with disabilities, testifying at the Massachusetts State House on discrimination in disabled health care. She is survived by sons Conor, 12, and Declan, 10, from her marriage to Liam Kerr, whom the obituary called her "former husband." Kyle, born July 6, 1984, to Michael Kennedy and Victoria Denise Gifford, worked as a Teach For America teacher and advocated for equitable education. Her father died in a 1997 skiing accident, and her daughter Josephine died days after birth.
