Kennedy family mourns Kyle Kennedy, 42, who died at home in September

Kyle Kennedy, a 42-year-old member of the Kennedy family, died at her home on September 20, 2026, reigniting talk of the family's so-called curse. She was the daughter of Michael L. Kennedy, who died in a 1997 skiing accident at age 39, and the granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy, assassinated in 1968 at 42. Kyle dedicated much of her life to education for underprivileged youth before a 2020 spinal cord injury left her paralyzed, after which she advocated for disabled people. Kyle is survived by her husband Liam Kerr and their two sons, Conor, 12, and Declan, 10. A third child, a twin, died shortly after birth.
