Iran Says US Economic Pressure Will Fail, Military Fully Restored

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said new US economic pressures will have no effect, asserting Tehran has plans to absorb the shocks and that Washington failed to achieve its goals even during military operations. Pezeshkian's remarks respond to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's plan for "economic suffocation" of Iran, which threatens third countries with sanctions over trade ties. He stressed Tehran remains committed to dialogue but will resist external economic coercion. Iran's military spokesman Mohammad Akraminia said all damaged weapons systems have been restored and new ones added from domestic industry and imports. The Middle East conflict began in late February with US-Israeli strikes, with an April ceasefire ending nearly forty days of bombardment.
