Germany and NVIDIA Partner to Accelerate Industrial AI
Germany announced a partnership with US AI chip giant NVIDIA on Monday to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence in industrial applications. The agreement was signed during an investment summit in Berlin. The collaboration aims to develop cutting-edge industrial AI models using German data and industry expertise. The investment amount was not disclosed, though German media reported it could reach hundreds of millions of dollars. Chancellor Friedrich Merz and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang appeared together at the event. Merz urged German companies to share more data to support AI development, particularly mid-sized firms. He noted Germany seeks to leverage its manufacturing strengths to lead in factory-focused AI applications. Huang said the next wave of AI is "physical AI" that will enhance, not replace, German industrial expertise.
