The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is investigating a multistate salmonella outbreak linked to broccoli sprouts, with 22 infections reported across four states and two hospitalizations. The FDA and CDC identified Evergreen Fresh Sprouts in Idaho as the common grower, which initiated a recall on September 4 after a positive test. Of 19 patients interviewed, all ate sprouts, with 17 specifically consuming broccoli sprouts. Consumers and retailers are advised to avoid the recalled product.
