California Couple’s Rare Mixed Triplets Born on Dad’s Birthday Weigh Nearly 20 Pounds

A California couple, Nyla Craft and Marco Bernal, welcomed rare mixed triplets on Bernal's birthday, with the boys born naturally and full-term. The trio weighed a combined 19.3 lbs., nearly breaking the world record for heaviest triplets at birth. Two of the brothers, Elio, Elias, and Enzo, are identical, while the third is fraternal, making them mixed triplets. The hospital required over a dozen specialists to safely deliver the babies, who were conceived naturally without complications. The world record of 22 lbs., 12.6 oz. was set in 2003 by triplets born in Colorado. The newborns join two older siblings, making the couple parents to five children under age 5.
