Zhan Hanyu joins elite Chinese aerospace university
Zhan Hanyu, a former US defence researcher, has joined a top aerospace university in China. He has spent over 15 years studying and working in the United States. Zhan specializes in vision-based navigation, advanced optical sensing, and information fusion. His profile on the university's website states that he is looking for students with science or engineering backgrounds to join his team. He is particularly interested in fields like navigation, optics, automation, and image processing. Zhan has both academic and industry experience. He worked as a research scientist at New Mexico State University and as a machine vision systems engineer at Corning Incorporated in New York. During his time in the US, Zhan was involved in over 20 major projects, including some that may relate to sensitive technologies in defence and aerospace. Zhan received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Zhengzhou University in 2008. He then moved to the US, where he earned a master’s degree from the University of Bridgeport in 2012 and a PhD from New Mexico State University in 2016.
