Zahan Kapoor emphasizes hard work in filmmaking career

Zahan Kapoor, the grandson of noted director Ramesh Sippy, recently shared his journey into acting. He has a deep passion for film despite facing the challenges of the industry. Zahan began his career at the young age of 17 as an assistant director. He felt a sense of purpose in creating films and found joy in the collaborative effort. His acting debut came in 2022 with Hansal Mehta's film, Faraaz. However, it was his role in the Netflix series Black Warrant that brought him more recognition. When recalling his childhood, Zahan mentioned that Hrithik Roshan was the first superstar he admired. He constantly watched Roshan's debut film, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, before he was encouraged by his mother to watch the classic film Sholay for the first time at the age of 12. Zahan clarified that there was no pressure to join the film industry, as his family focused more on arts and culture than on cinema. He has fond memories of his grandfather, Shashi Kapoor, but noted that their interests often clashed. In Black Warrant, Zahan portrays Sunil Gupta, a character based on a true story. He has earned praise for his authenticity in this role. Zahan also has a background in theater and is set to star in an Amazon Prime series later this year.
