Yoshitomo Nara showcases new works at BLUM Tokyo exhibition I Draw the Line

Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara has launched a new exhibition titled "I Draw the Line" at BLUM in Shibuya. The collection features his signature wide-eyed characters and haiku-like phrases, created on found wood panels to promote sustainability. Nara's latest works were made using Sakura paint markers during his stay in Toya, Hokkaido. The pieces reflect his connection to the local environment and include motifs from his past, such as houses and trees, showcasing his artistic evolution. The exhibition also carries activist themes, drawing on Nara's involvement in countercultural movements and his ongoing opposition to war and nuclear weapons. "I Draw the Line" will be open until January 11, 2025.
