Worker wins £20k for cold workplace

Cheesecake cafe worker wins over £20,000 after being forced to work in cold conditions with the door open. Leila Ayad complained her managers insisted on keeping the door open for business, making it difficult to work in cold temperatures. She was later sacked after her hours were reduced. The tribunal found Ayad was unfairly dismissed for making protected disclosures about workplace temperature. The cafe has since closed.
