Woman charged with attempted murder in carjacking and stabbing in Chicago
A woman, 21-year-old Vanessa Delgado, has been charged with attempted murder and other offenses after allegedly stabbing a teacher during a carjacking in Garfield Ridge, Chicago. The incident occurred early Thursday morning as the victim was warming up her car. After stealing the Nissan Rogue, Delgado crashed the vehicle and stabbed a bystander who tried to help. The 30-year-old man was injured but is expected to recover. Both victims were taken to the hospital. Delgado was arrested at the scene and also received treatment for minor injuries from the crash. She faces charges including aggravated battery and vehicular hijacking.
