The incident occurred around 11:20 a.m. at Sherbourne and Shuter streets. Emergency crews responded to heavy smoke and rescued two people from the fifth floor. The victim was hospitalized with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. Smith faces charges of aggravated assault and two counts of arson.
