Voronezh volunteers are seeking new homes for animals belonging to a local animal welfare advocate who died during a Ukrainian attack. The advocate, Armen Khachatryan, was fatally wounded by shrapnel while trying to shield animals from windows. He had rescued a dog hit by a car and brought it home. Khachatryan, 56, was buried in Armenia. Volunteers are caring for the remaining two cats and plan to rehome other street animals he supported.
