Volkswagen settles dieselgate lawsuits in the Netherlands for over 100,000 owners

Over 100,000 vehicle owners are expected to receive compensation between €300 and €2500. The settlement resolves lawsuits concerning 'cheat software' in diesel cars that manipulated emissions tests. Compensation amounts vary based on factors like car model, purchase date, and owner registration. Affected owners can register until December 1, 2025. This agreement concludes legal battles initiated by Stichting Car Claim, VGDES, and Stichting Diesel Emissions Justice. Similar settlements have occurred in Belgium, and other manufacturers also face claims for circumventing emissions regulations.
