Vietnam's hit film 'The Real Sister' to debut internationally after local success

Vietnamese film "The Real Sister" will be released internationally after its success in Vietnam. The family drama, which has topped the local box office for five weeks, will debut in North America on February 21 and in Australia and New Zealand on February 27. Since its release on December 20, 2024, the film has earned $4.4 million from 1.3 million admissions, making it one of Vietnam's highest-grossing films of the year. It features an all-female cast and tells the story of a terminally ill sister-in-law and her family tensions. Eastern Edge Films Inc. is leading the North American release, with support from marketing experts. The film will also be showcased at the European Film Market in Berlin and Hong Kong's FilMart in March.
